This prescribing assessment has been introduced to help ensure that new doctors are able to undertake paediatric prescribing safely.

You are allowed 3 attempts to achieve 100%

If you do not pass within 3 attempts, you will not be given prescribing access to Alder Hey's electronic prescribing system until your educational supervisor is happy to authorise this.

The assessment requires you to use the BNFC or Alder Hey guidelines to select the correct dose and appropriate frequency for the child described in the scenario.  Please access the BNFC online.  Where required, the relevant section of Alder Hey guidelines are embedded within the assessment.

This is the Aseptic Non Touch Technique (ANTT) Direct Observation of Practice Competency Assessment

Strong Foundations Programme - Designed for all Leaders and Managers at Alder Hey regardless of level.

This course is designed for you to get starting using Voice Recognition (Fluency Direct).  Fluency Direct VR can be used in all systems including Word, Email and Meditech.  It is also used in Medisec for dictating letters but to this will require an update to your Medisec access.

To get started you will need a Fluency Direct account and a dictation handset (the same device as used for Medisec Digital Dictation), although if you are not going to use VR for Medisec you can use your Teams headset.

If you do not have an account please contact Shirley.McDermott@alderhey.nhs.uk; if you don't have a dictation device please see your Operational Manager as these are purchased by Departments.

This course is for new Doctors joining the Trust.  Select your discipline from the list of courses available and follow the instructions.
